THE NEWBURGH CAMPUS
Newburgh was chosen as Grace's first additional location or "site." Grace Community Church Newburgh (GCCN) launched in November of 2012 at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor-- just south of Newburgh on Route 9W.
Grace Newburgh has her own campus pastor and leadership team available to connect with people each weekend. Praise the Lord--the campus has been very well received and continues to thrive!
Services take place on Sunday mornings at 9:00am and 10:30am, with teaching shared through video technology. Everything else is performed “live”—from the powerful music to the ministry areas, to the Grace Community Cafe.
Why Multiple Campuses?
Grace Community Church exists to reach Orange County and beyond for Christ and to make fully devoted followers of Jesus. To do that, we need to provide ideal locations with open seats at preferred times for all who want to hear the good news of Jesus Christ! The idea of a multi-site church allows Grace Community to remain "one church" with the same DNA but reach many more through a variety of different locations. The goal is that people will spend more time connecting with their church than driving to their church each week.
Grace's sites are not separate churches--just other locations to experience Grace Community. We operate as one church with the same vision, budget, leadership and elder board. One church--multiple locations.
Joel Sheets, Campus Pastor
Joel was born and raised in the state of Colorado. After high school, Joel served 6 years in the U.S. Army, and then 18 years in the fields of advertising, marketing and communication.
After facing his own life struggles with addiction, God graciously gave him the desire and opportunity to help other men find freedom from the bondage of life controlling issues. For 10 years, Joel served at Transformation Life Center (a faith-based men's discipleship program) ultimately becoming their Executive Director. In 2011, Joel left TLC to accept the position of Campus Pastor at Grace Community, Washingtonville, with the hope of being placed as campus pastor at the first multi-site location. He was thrilled and honored to be reaching out to his own community of Newburgh. Joel and his wife Roberta have lived in Newburgh since 2004.
Joel is a board certified Biblical Counselor and is currently enrolled in studies at Western University (Online), Spokane WA.
